Fruitful cooperation with the Bulgarian National Defence College

Date: (16-12-2024)
As part of an extensive program covering Bulgaria's foreign and defense policies, its security interests, and military strategy, as well as the threats and challenges in the Black Sea region—a region of strategic importance to NATO—attendees of the NATO Defense College's Senior Course were briefed on several critical topics. These included Bulgaria's regional role and relationships with neighboring Western Balkan and Black Sea countries, its perspectives on peace and stability in the region, and key lessons learned from the war in Ukraine.
In the context of Bulgaria's defense modernization efforts, planning, and programs, as well as its relationship with NATO, an expert from the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) delivered a presentation highlighting the Center's mission and role. The presentation underscored the organization’s vision to become an internationally recognized NATO CMDR expert, significantly contributing to research, capacity-building, and the development of crisis management and disaster response capabilities for NATO, its member nations, and partners in both military and civilian contexts.
