General Lavigne formal visit

On 8 March 2024, General Philippe Lavigne, the Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (SACT) honoured our Centre with a formal visit. The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by the Director and Command Staff of the CMDR COE.
Colonel Orlin Nikolov presented the Centre’s organization, capabilities and projects in support of the Alliance, Framework Nation and the Centre’s Sponsoring Nations. A general overview has been provided in concern of current work as CMDR COE emphasis on the interagency interaction and collaboration between governmental and non-governmental bodies and organisation.
The Director expressed the Centre’s ambitions on innovative critical thinking in the areas of the Crisis and Disaster management; Environmental risks; Climate change; Building resilience through Preparedness; Building Integrity; Modelling & Simulation and AI Technical architecture for Decision Makers, Gender Focal Points. In respect of its curriculum, the CMDR COE has built a fruitful collaboration with the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) and with the EU Military Training Group (EUMTG) particularly in its capacity as a Department Head (DH) for the discipline on ‘Military Contribution to EU Disaster Response (DR), Humanitarian Assistance (HA) and Civil Protection (CP)’. Additionally was pointed out the significant contribution of the Centre to the major ACT projects i.e. the capacity building for the Jordanian National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM).
General Lavigne expressed his gratitude for the visit and his appreciation for all the work done by the Centre in support to the Alliance transformation.
