Training Requirements Analysis Workshop Brings Together Subject Matter Experts in Lively Discussion

Date: (14-01-2016)

The Training Requirements Analysis (TRA) workshop for the discipline Military role and tasks in Crisis Management/Disaster Relief was held on 13-14 January 2016 in Shipka Hotel in Sofia, Bulgaria. The workshop was attended by more than 20 participants from eight EU countries (AUT, BEL, GER, BUL, FIN, CYP, POL, ROM) and EU Military Training Group (EUMTG). The Working Group comprised experts from the Bulgarian National Defense College, other COEs, Defense Ministries and EU institutions.

The Progress report (state of play and way ahead) of the ongoing TRA for the Crisis Management/Disaster Relief discipline and Training priorities and conditions for the discipline based on the role and tasks of the military in disaster were presented by the co-director of the workshop Col Milen Milkov.

As a result of the discussion, the working group reached an agreement to introduce amendments to the Scope of the TRA in order to make it clearer and more precise.

The Requirements session of the workshop was launched with the revision of the functions and the tasks. Furthermore were reviewed the Performance Objectives, the identified thematics in the discipline, and the Common Core Curriculum. The second session of the TRA workshop focusing on Opportunities reviewed the existing training opportunities and the collected data from the questionnaires answers.

CMDR COE WG will organize a second workshop in April with the aim of conducting the analysis by matching opportunities to the requirements as comments and proposals to be submitted till mid-March2016 with the main task to produce final TRA.
