Brilliant Final Presentation

Date: (21-11-2025)

On November 21, 2025, our intern Asya Arsova presented her final project “Forest Fires in the Balkans 2025: Risks, Responses and Lessons Learned”.

Based on her research, she shared with the audience that forest fires in the Balkans are considered a growing phenomenon that causes severe consequences for the region. Experts study them as a new reality that requires special attention and efforts to minimize negative effects, based on lessons learned. International cooperation and targeted regional approaches to climate and human-induced disasters are essential, and NATO is a key player with the capacity and resources to support member states and allies in managing crises arising from forest fires.

Simultaneously with her final project, she contributed to the project led by CMDR COE in the NATO Modeling and Simulation Group on Mass Movements of People.

Her supervisor, Police Chief Commissioner Nicoleta Primavarus, highlighted Asya’s excellent performance and professional dedication to multiple tasks during her internship program. The CMDR COE team strongly believes in Asya’s brilliant career ahead and wishes her success and a blessed future.
