CMDR COE participation to the Exercise

NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), the Directorate General Fire Safety and Civil Protection (DG FSCP) of the Ministry of Interior, Republic of Bulgaria, and Crisis Management and Disaster Response (CMDR COE) organized the 20th NATO EADRCC Emergency Management Exercise “BULGARIA 2025” (“the Exercise”). It took place in Montana, Bulgaria from 7 to 12 September 2025, and was accompanied by a facilitated strategic discussion in Sofia, Bulgaria, on 09 September 2025.
"BULGARIA 2025" is NATO's 20th exercise of this type and one of the largest and most complex emergency management drills in the world, which Bulgaria hosts.
NATO's increased readiness is key to Alliance's security. The better prepared allies are, the stronger it is. "BULGARIA 2025" strengthens the close cooperation between allies and partners by building networks between first responders and decision-makers.

Visualizing Implications of Climate Change on Military Activities and Relationships was conducted

On 11-12 December 2013, the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) co-hosted together with US European Command (USEUCOM) and the US embassy in Bulgaria the workshop Visualizing Implications of Climate Change on Military Activities and Relationships. The opening remarks were given by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bulgaria, Mr. Ivan Ivanov, who welcomed the participants and underlined the importance of the topics that the workshop focused on.
