Completed Crisis Management in a Multilateral Framework course

From 13th to 16th of May in CMDRCOE was conducted Crisis Management in a Multilateral Framework course. 

 

The course was a pilot and organized in cooperation with the Diplomatic Institute to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Egmont - Royal Institute for International Relations, Belgium and within the framework of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), Brussel.

 

The course was supported also from G.S.Rakovski National Defence College and Bulgarian Univercity for World and National Economy – International Relation Branch.

 

During the course were elaborated the new and arising challenges to the global and regional security with academic approach to the current political and military crises. Apart from the theoretical part, the course agenda included practical work for crisis diplomacy, in order to make the topics more tangible and useful.

 

The participants played a table top exercise analysing the role of EU and also other different global actors like the UN, NATO, OSCE, and different non-govermental organisations.

Visualizing Implications of Climate Change on Military Activities and Relationships was conducted

On 11-12 December 2013, the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) co-hosted together with US European Command (USEUCOM) and the US embassy in Bulgaria the workshop Visualizing Implications of Climate Change on Military Activities and Relationships. The opening remarks were given by the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bulgaria, Mr. Ivan Ivanov, who welcomed the participants and underlined the importance of the topics that the workshop focused on.
