What is NATO's crisis management process? How are strategic decisions made? What is the role of the military in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief? Why are cross-cutting topics such as gender perspectives and resilience essential components of a comprehensive approach to security? These formed the basis of discussions during the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2022-2023 / Managing Contemporary Crisis, organised by the Baltic Defence College in Tartu, Estonia. In the course of 5 days (24-28 APR), a CMDR COE Mobile Education and Training Team (METT) instructed a 60+ strong group of learners from different Allied and Partner nations, and engaged them in a practical exercise aimed at solidifying knowledge of key concepts and approaches.
The result: constructive exchange, increased awareness, and collective support in pursuit of common objectives.
