A course in Jordan for planning crisis response operations

Within the period 25-30 September 2021, the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) in Amman, Jordan, hosted the fourth consecutive training event delivered by a mobile training team from CMDR COE. It conducted a course as a part of the NATO Defense Capability Building Project for Jordan. The topic of the course "Strategic Planning for Crisis Response Operations" provided the trainees with some theoretical knowledge and practical training of the decision-making process within the NATO crisis response planning at a strategic level. The course participants from NCSCM and from different Jordanian agencies and ministries had the opportunity to train into practice the main processes related to a the strategic assessment, political-military estimation, response options and course of action development during the practical part of the course in order to have a view how to build an affective crisis response plan for a real planning situation. The aim of this twelve project event to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of the trainees and to strengthen the NCSCM’s capacity within the above area was fully achieved.
The course was organized as an interactive training comprising a theoretical part and syndicate tasks during which the participants were actively working on a specific scenario, learning how to process and derive specific information in order to manage with the different tasks as a part of a crisis response planning staff team at a strategic military level.
During the closing ceremony, the Vice Chairman of NCSCM Brigadier General Hatem Alzoubi and Bulgarian Military Attaché COL Stoyan Uzunov greeted the participants and the CMDR COE’s team for the successful completion of this cooperative event. During his speech, the Brigadier Alzoubi expressed his gratitude to the CMDR COE’s team for their support to the capability development process and the desire for continuing this fruitful cooperation in the future.
