CMDR COE Concludes Crisis and Disaster Management and Governmental Resilience Course in Jordan

Date: (19-09-2026)

CMDR COE completed the “Crisis and Disaster Management and Governmental Resilience” Course, held from 13 to 17 September 2026 in Amman, Jordan. The course brought together representatives of different Jordanian ministries and agencies to develop their knowledge and practical understanding of crisis preparedness, disaster management and governmental resilience.

The programme combined lectures, facilitated discussions and practical group activities. It addressed four closely connected areas: risk management, governmental resilience, crisis management, and disaster management and disaster risk reduction. Particular attention was given to risk assessment, crisis communication, planning and the development of response options. These topics provided a basis for examining how institutions can work together to manage complex situations while maintaining essential functions and services.

The active engagement of the training audience was a defining feature of the course. Participants asked thoughtful and relevant questions, contributed to discussions and connected the training material to their professional responsibilities. Their contributions encouraged an open exchange of views and helped explore the practical challenges faced by different institutions.

During the practical tasks, participants demonstrated professional knowledge and analytical skills. Working in groups, they examined situations, identified priorities, considered different options and explained the reasoning behind their proposed decisions. The exercises provided opportunities to practise coordination, resource allocation and communication, while considering the protection of people, continuity of critical functions and transition to recovery.

The participation of representatives from different ministries and agencies added considerable value to the learning process. Sharing experience and discussing different institutional perspectives helped participants better understand one another’s roles and responsibilities. The course also provided an opportunity to strengthen professional contacts that can support cooperation during a real crisis.

The CMDR COE instructor team expressed its appreciation for the participants’ commitment, constructive comments and willingness to share their experience. This exchange enriched the discussions and gave the instructors valuable insight into the participants’ working environment and training needs.

CMDR COE extends its sincere thanks to the Jordanian hosts and all those who supported the preparation and delivery of the course for their cooperation and warm hospitality. The Centre also thanks all participants for their valuable contributions and looks forward to continued cooperation in crisis and disaster management and governmental resilience.
