Bundeswehr Command and Staff College Visits the CMDR COE
Date: (19-03-2026)
Earlier this week, the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) welcomed a group of course members from the senior course of the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College during their study visit to the Republic of Bulgaria.
The visit was part of the group’s broader educational programme in Bulgaria, which also included engagements with national military academic counterparts.
During the meeting at the CMDR COE, the delegation received an overview of the Centre’s mission, main areas of work, and current priorities. The discussion also highlighted key aspects of crisis management, disaster response, and multinational cooperation in the context of regional security.
As part of NATO’s network of Centres of Excellence, the CMDR COE contributes expertise in crisis management and disaster response through education and training, analysis, concept development, doctrine support, and lessons learned. The visit provided an important opportunity to exchange perspectives with future senior military leaders and to underline the value of professional dialogue, shared understanding, and cooperation among Allied institutions.
The CMDR COE greatly values its cooperation with the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College and the Bundeswehr University, and appreciates opportunities for academic and professional exchange that strengthen cooperation, interoperability, and collective preparedness across the Alliance.
