Hosted Staff Officers Meeting of the National Reserve Forces Committee
Date: (17-10-2024)
National Reserve Forces Committee (NRFC) is a powerful instrument at the service of NATO member states and the Armed Forces. NRFC represents those thousands of women and men who became Reservists and combined their military role with their civilian career or those who might be a part of the Reserve Forces in the future. The NRFC is composed of the national officials responsible for the Reserve Forces of the Nations signatory to the North Atlantic Treaty. For the period 2024-2026 the Committee is chaired by the Netherlands.
Annualy NRFC organizes and helds Plenary and Staff Officers meetings in order to adjust its priorities over time, following the same path as NATO and to reach the three main objectives defined by the committee. The Republic of Bulgaria, as a member of this Committee, hosted the NRFC Staff Officers Meeting. The three-day meeting of the NRFC Staff Officers focused on briefings, topical discussions and syndicate work.
Experts from 30 NATO countries discussed the development of the reserve in the member countries of the Alliance. Among their immediate goals was to outline rules and standards for military mobility. This is the logistics of transferring troops, armaments and other types of cargo through the countries of the pact. The working group was working on the final version of the report to be delivered to the National Reserve Forces Committee.
