Date: (19-07-2024)
On 16 – 18 July 2024, in the framework of the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme, the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE), together with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, conducted the Advanced Research Workshop on Climate and Security Action: The Role of Civil-Military Cooperation.
The event is organised in the context of the research project on “Climate and Security Action through Civil-Military Cooperation in Climate-Related Emergencies”. The workshop brought together experts dealing with climate change and security from 20 NATO Allied and Partner countries and provided them with a venue for active discussions aimed at analysing the nature, extent, and effectiveness of civil-military cooperation in climate-related emergencies, as well as contributing to the enhancement of officials’ and public understanding of defence and security issues, including the climate and security nexus.
