Revisiting Dimension on Crisis Diplomacy

The Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) conducted 'Revisiting Crisis Diplomacy: Civilian/Political and Military Dimension' Workshop on 8 May 2024.
The aim of this workshop was to provide a brainstorming as a group problem-solving method that involves the spontaneous contribution of creative ideas and solutions. The workshop introduced the topic of crisis diplomacy within the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) training framework for 2025 with the Crisis Management in Multilateral Framework (IGOs: The role of Political/Civilian and Military Crisis Diplomacy) Course.
The future ESDC course will be provided by CMDR COE in collaboration with the Diplomatic Institute of Ministry Foreign Affairs, under the umbrella of the ESDC (European Security and College).
Other partners as: Hungarian governmental and training institutions; EGMONT – The Royal Institute for International Relations, Brussels, Belgium and Bulgarian University of National and World Economy were involved in the workshop and their contributions was valuable for the final outcome.
The group of highly motivated and experienced workshop participants shared their different perspectives, deriving from their respective field of expertise and professional tasks. What is more, the event provided venue for active discussions and exchange of best practices, which contributed undoubtedly to the establishment of a common understanding of the discussed topic.
The CMDR COE express gratitude also to all the expert team consisted of different organization experienced in crisis diplomacy: Bulgarian Fire Safety and Civil Protection General Directorate, Sofia University st. Kliment Ohridski,; Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy ; NGO - Ecological Manifesto - ManEco", etc.
