Valuable contributions to armed forces learning process

Date: (08-03-2024)
The first iteration of the NATO-approved Gender Focal Point (GFP) course in 2024 is now completed. It took place from 5 to 8 March 2024 in the premises of the Centre. The event gather group of militaries from Bulgaria who practiced advocating for and support to the implementation of NATO’s commitments to the Women, Peace and Security agenda as well as the importance of the Alliance’s gender advisory structure. The study method premises on principles of adult learning and summative assessment tailored to the specifics of the respective functional areas in military units.
The delivered lectures focused on stereotypes and biases in military contexts; identification of gender perspectives in security aspects. Our Centre states that integrated throughout the decision-making and planning processes, gender perspective enhances risk assessments and improves the identification of opportunities, needs, and obligations when analysing possible solutions, responses or courses of action. Therefore, this leads to better plans and decisions in order to achieve the defined objectives, desired effects or end state.
The CMDR COE should like to thank the team of subject-matter instructors and facilitators for their valuable contributions to the organisation and delivery of this learning experience.
