CMDR COE with original definitions - CRISIS and DISASTER

Date: (13-03-2020)
Our work in the crisis management and disaster response domain has shown that decision-making, respectively - action taking, at any stage of a crisis or a disaster could be seriously complicated by a multitude of existing readings of the characteristics of these occurrences. In an attempt to bridge perspectives for CMDR, we developed a tailored lexicon which to enable a common understanding and thus improve the conceptual framwork for our future undertakings, particulalry research and analysis, and E&T activities.
Against the backdrop of an identified lack of universally agreed terms for either crisis or disaster, a six-month research project resulted in the development of original, now internally approved, definitions for the afored-mentioned and also for crisis management and disaster response.
The definitions will soon be published on the CMDR COE website.
