Visit of SHAPE CIMIC Delegation led by ACOS J9 RADM Denis Bigot at CMDR COE

SHAPE J9 CIMIC Delegation, led by ACOS J9 RADM Denis Bigot, visited the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) on 11 October 2016. The aim of the duty call was acquirement with the specific CMDR COE’s mission, current status, developed capabilities and started projects. They met with Director Colonel Vassil Roussinov, CMDR COE Branch Chiefs and selected experts as presenters.
The tight fulfilled busy day was performed as consequence of variety of presentations, concerning particular topics, and mutually beneficial discussions.
Colonel Roussinov delivered the overall CMDR COE presentation. It tackled questions about the CMDR COE’s concept, vision and mission, as well as the main milestones in the process of firmly establishing the CMDR COE as a focal point in the Crisis Management and Disaster Response (CMDR) domain. It was followed by SHAPE J9 presentation, delivered by LTC Davor Pohovski and MAJ Johannes Lutsch. It made possible the better understanding of SHAPE J9 role and function.
Finally, the participants took time to find the matching capabilities and needs, to discover mutual synergies and possible ways of cooperation, ensuring the actual NATO members course – “Dare to Share”.
The meeting was in line with the CMDR COE priority to establish permanent operational relationships and collaboration with the NATO Strategic Commands, such as SHAPE.
