Delegation from Montenegro visited the CMDR COE
Date: (10-12-2025)
A high-level delegation from Montenegro, led by the Minister of Defence, H.E. Mr Dragan KRAPOVIĆ, paid a visit to the CMDR COE yesterday.
The Deputy Director of CMDR COE, CAPT (N) Theodoros PACHIS, welcomed Mr KRAPOVIĆ and introduced him to the purpose, concept, and structure of the Centre. CAPT (N) PACHIS emphasised the importance of cooperation and partnership to achieve common goals.
The ongoing and planned activities and projects of the Centre were presented to the visiting delegation, who also toured the CMDR COE premises.
The official visit underscored Montenegro’s firm commitment to strengthening collective resilience, enhancing regional stability, and advancing the shared principles that guide our Alliance. As we face an increasingly complex security environment, deepening cooperation and strengthening NATO’s crisis management and disaster response capabilities have never been more crucial.
Minister KRAPOVIĆ highlighted the significant contribution of the CMDR COE, not only as an educational hub providing models and simulations of various types of disasters in different scenarios and effectively preparing personnel to manage crises and mitigate their consequences, but also as a centre of expertise in forecasting, preventing, and responding to events that have the potential to affect entire regions. The delegation particularly noted the Centre’s work regarding the wildfires in Europe earlier this year and emphasised the importance of activities related to civil preparedness, civil-military cooperation, and the transformation and adaptation of policies and practices to enhance societal resilience in the event of crises and disasters.
Exchanges of mutual appreciation followed, reaffirming the strong intention to further deepen collaboration between CMDR COE and Montenegro through joint training, knowledge exchange, and strategic initiatives.
