Successful NATO Crisis Management Training Held in Kuwait

The Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE), in cooperation with NATO and the NATO- Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) Regional Centre, successfully delivered a Mobile Training in Kuwait from 25 to 29 May 2025. The course focused on crisis and disaster management through the NATO perspective, emphasizing civil-military cooperation, resilience, and international coordination.
The training gathered 30 participants from: Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the representatives from Gulf Cooperation Council.
Core topics included:
- Crisis and disaster management fundamentals.
- NATO civil preparedness and resilience standards.
- International coordination with UN, EU, AU, and others
The event received outstanding support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kuwait, the NATO-ICI Regional Centre (the venue for the training) in Kuwait and the Bulgarian Embassy in Kuwait, all of which played a key role in the event’s success.
The CMDR COE’s team of five led by col. Orlin Nikolov showcased the professionalism, expertise, and dedication which efforts ensured the successful planning, delivery, and execution of the training. Their ability to tailor complex NATO concepts to the regional context and engage participants through practical and relevant content was widely praised. There was strong interest from all participating countries in expanding cooperation and future training initiatives, reflecting the shared commitment to regional crisis preparedness and response.
