Online conduct of the GFP course
Date: (15-11-2024)
The CMDR COE welcomed virtually a group of military and civilian learners to the NATO-approved Gender Focal Point course (GFPC). The online iteration for 2024 took place in the period 11-14 November and offered intensive four days of instruction, discussions, and practical exercises on the role and function of GFPs.
The course offered ways for improved awareness and understanding of gender in security and defence. It brought also some ideas for advancing gender perspectives within functional area and chain of command at strategic and operational level. Learners practiced advocating for and supporting gender mainstreaming, and familiarised with the importance of the NATO’s gender advisory structure in facilitating collaborative exchange.
The CMDR COE express gratitude to the team of subject-matter instructors and facilitators for their valuable contributions to the organisation and delivery of this learning experience.
