Modelling and Simulation as a Service Experiment

Date: (18-09-2024)
A Modelling and Simulation as a Service (MSaaS) Experiment took place from 15 to 18 September, 2024, as part of a long-standing NATO initiative to enhance operational capabilities. The experiment was designed to test the ability to provide services in the context of a demonstration exercise, utilizing a range of products.
The event, hosted in a specialized Operational Laboratory, a unique body of Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE), brought together cutting-edge tools and technologies to assess their effectiveness in a simulated environment. These products were tested to ensure they could deliver vital services for future NATO missions, ranging from operational planning to disaster response. The experiment is a critical step toward strengthening NATO's capabilities in using modelling and simulation for operational preparedness.
The experiment also evaluated the Operational Laboratory’s capacity to manage both new and existing systems in parallel. This rigorous testing process ensures that the infrastructure can handle the demands of future operations, supporting NATO’s mission to remain agile and adaptive in the face of evolving security challenges.
