Cooperation with the Police Academy, Sofia

Cadets from the faculty of Fire Safety and Civil Protection at the Academy of the Ministry of Interior visited the CMDR COE. At the Centre’s premises they were welcomed by the Director, Colonel Orlin Nikolov and Col Desislav Zmeev, chief of Capabilities Branch delivered them a presentation. The purpose of the visit was informative and for exchange of educational experiences. Colonel Zmeev provided an overview of what the NATO Centres of Excellences are, how are structured and topics they work on. He focused the attention on CMDR COE capabilities, especially on courses and trainings the Sofia-based Centre provides yearly. The future developments and strategic perspectives were outlined as well. The CMDR COE Director addressed the questions from the audience. The visit was marked by exchange of plaquettes with the Dean of the Academy as a sign of gratitude and a symbol of the cooperation between the two institutions.
