Disaster Relief Operations/Disaster Management course in Jordan

Within 11 – 15 July 2021, the National Center for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) in Amman, Jordan, hosted for a third consecutive time a mobile training team from CMDR COE who conducted a course as a part of the NATO Defense Capability Building Project for Jordan. The topic of the course "Disaster Relief Operations / Disaster Management" provided the trainees with the theoretical foundations about disasters, humanitarian crises and complex emergencies in the context of NATO crisis and disaster management process. The course participants from NCSCM and from different Jordanian agencies and ministries had the opportunity to train into practice the main processes related to a disaster relief coordination and risk assessment during the practical part of the course. The aim of the event to enhance the professional skills and knowledge of the trainees and to strengthen the NCSCM’s capacity within the above area was fully achieved.
The course was organized as an interactive training comprising a theoretical part and syndicate tasks during which the participants were actively working on a specific scenario, learning how to process and derive specific information in order to manage with the different tasks as a part of a disaster management staff.
During the closing ceremony, the Vice Chairman of NCSM Brigadier General Hatem Alzoubi and Bulgarian Military Assistant Attaché MAJ Lazar Nikolov greeted the participants and the CMDR COE’s team for the successful completion of this cooperative event. During his speech, the Brigadier Alzoubi expressed his gratitude to the CMDR COE’s team for their support to the capability development process and the desire for continuing this fruitful cooperation in the future.
