The Online CMDR Exercise Planners Training Course
Date: (23-10-2020)
The first online edition of the Crisis Management and Disaster Response Exercise Planners Training Course was conducted in the period 19-23 October 2020 from the virtual studio of CMDR COE.
The aim of the event was the acquisition of new knowledge that would help to upgrade the needed skills of planners for planning and managing the crisis management and disaster response exercises.
During the course, the attendees were taken on a virtual journey to ZULAND to practice various aspects of exercise planning process – from how to handle the available information in the Specification Development stage, through how to transform and use that data in the Planning and in the Execution stage, to finally evaluate and assess the exercise. From our Operational Laboratory, they were also able to spectate in live from the God’s View of the Ex RILA 20 Exercise Center the injecting of a disaster incident to the Training Audience.
The course was unique in NATO because it integrated the knowledge from NATO Exercise Planning, Crisis Management and Disaster Response domains. There was also one more reason for the uniqueness of the course and it was the variety. There were a variety of participants’ nationalities – Bosnia & Herzegovina, Greece, Jordan, Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria and to add up the variety of the organizations represented – both, military and civil sectors as well as educational institutions and international organizations.
