CMDR COE participated in Civil Emergency Planning Work shop

Ministry of Interior, supported by Civil-Emergency Planning Representative at Permanent Delegation of the Republic of Bulgaria to NATO, organized and conducted from 17 to 18 February 2016 CEP Workshop: Towards Operational, Coherent and Effective Civil Crisis Response Measures.
The workshop was opened by Deputy Minister of Interior – Mr. Krasimir Tsipov and Civil Preparedness Head to NATO – Mr. Lorenz Meyer-Minnemann. Representatives from NATO IS, CMDR COE, eighteen NATO Member Nations and two Partner Countries took part into the event. Experts from Bulgarian Ministry of Interior, DG Fire Safety and Civil Protection, Ministry of Defense, Military Medical Academy, Medical University – Plovdiv, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Energy, and Ministry of Economy participated to the event as well.
The Workshop was expected to raise awareness for the CEP-related NATO Crisis Response Measures (CRMs) and to provide an opportunity to understand and share how the four CEP functions are addressed nationally.
The workshop participants have contributed significantly to workshop goals achievement and all results, findings, and recommendations will be presented during the upcoming CEPC Plenary Session at NATO HQs in April 2016 as a part of the Alliance efforts to improve its civil preparedness and resilience to crisis.
