The Crisis Management and Disaster Response (CMDR) Course , NATO APPROVED,  will take place within 09-13 JUN 2025 as a residential event - at South-Eastern Europe Brigade in North Makedonia. 

 

Aim:

Acquisition of basic knowledge to NATO Crisis Management fundamentals, NATO Crisis Response System, and its complementary elements - NATO Crisis Response Process, Civil Emergency Planning, and Operations Planning. General awareness of civil preparedness and resilience in a collective defence and deterrence context. Acquisition of knowledge to minimum standards for national resilience, NATO “baseline requirements”, and basic criteria for evaluation of resilience across all of the requirements in order to assess their achievement.
 

 

Training Audience:

Military officers (OF-2 or higher) and/or civilian equivalent, involved in crisis response, assigned to NATO HQs and agencies, missions and operations; NATO Ally and Partner nations' Ministry of Defence and subordinated HQs; Ministry of Interior, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

 

Learning Objectives:

1  Application of knowledge and skills on theoretical-applied basis for analysis and application of crisis and emergency management tools in the contemporary security environment.  
2 Development of new capabilities for crisis and emergency forecasting, crisis and emergency management planning.  
3 Demonstration of professional skills to manage large complex social systems in crisis or emergency.

 

Prerequisite:

None.

 

Methodology:

The course will be conducted as residential event in SEEBRIG. 

The course consists of interactive lectures, practical tasks, tabletop exercise, and a final hands-on task. Formative and summative assessment will be made in-class and  will be monitored by dedicated mentors. 

The tabletop exercise will be supported by the CMDR COE Operational Laboratory capabilities through deploying relevant modeling and simulation systems in order to provide the nessecary assessments and to test the students decisions.  

CMDR COE implements the adult learning principles in its E&T solutions. That is a method seeking and enabling the active involvement of trainees in the process of learning by encouraging critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving based on individual approach and creativity. During the course the Chatham house rule will be followed.

 

Language:

The command of English language should be at a professional level, according to the criteria stated in STANAG 6001. The minimum STANAG level is: 3-2-3-2 and  the minimum civilian equivalent is: B2+/C1 in CEFRL

 

Attendance:

Participants are expected to attend all course activities as the intense programme does not allow for absences during the course. Certificate for successful completion shall not be awarded in case absences are recorded. 

 

Registration:

The participants in the course will be provided by SEEBRIG no later than 30 May 2025. 

 

Course Fee is 300 Euro

It can be payed online (a payment link will be provided with the apprval email you receive after registration)or via bank transfer (further details will be provided).

In case of no show past the cancellation deadline (two weeks in advance of course start), the course fee is non-reimbursable.


 

Cancellation.

- Cancellation of participation must be communicated in a written form (via email) NLT two weeks in advance of course start.

- The CMDR COE reserves the right to cancel the course’s delivery within the same deadline in case the minimum number of participants is not reached or circumstances beyond the Centre's control prevent course delivery. A written notice will be circulated to all enrolled learners. 

 

Course assessment and certification. Each learner must demonstrate an ability to perform in accordance with the course objectives. Learners will be assessed against both individual and collective formative and summative assessment criteria. There are two types of certificates depending on overall performance: Certificate for Successful Completion and Certificate for Participation. 

The summative assessment for CMDR COE courses is conducted at the end of the course. The minimum score to pas the exam is 80% correct answers.
