A Disaster Relief Operations Course at South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) HQ

From 08 to 10 May 2018 a Disaster Relief Operations Course was held at South-Eastern Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG) HQ, Larissa, Greece. The aim of the event was acquisition of basic knowledge related to disasters as phenomenon, as well as the main players and mechanisms in disaster relief in order to facilitate the use of SEEBRIG ETF tool in such operations.

 

The course was successfully conducted by the CMDR COE Mobile Education and Training Team (METT) and offered to the participants the latest developments within the changing disaster environment through theoretical part and challenging practical sessions. Numerous aspects of the disaster risk assessment as well as planning and conducting of disaster relief operations were trained during the teamworks.

 

Thirty four attendees from SEEBRIG HQ participating nations took part and completed the course.

All course learning objectives were covered and the course aim was achieved which was reflected by the course outgoing test results. Into their closing remarks, CMDR COE Team and SEEBRIG Commander expressed their will for the continuation of the fruitful cooperation and collaboration into the future.
