CMDR COE FORMED EXPERIMENTATION CELL ON CRNA GORA EXERCISE
Date: (04-11-2016)
A team from Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence took part in the Consequence Management Exercise CRNA GORA 2016. The exercise was conducted by the NATO’s Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC) and the Ministry of Interior of Montenegro and took place from 31 October to 4 November 2016 in Podgorica.
One of the areas supported by the CMDR COE experts was the Fp7 funded project under Security call, by creating an experimentation cell during the exercise. INCIMOB and INCIMAG components of the IMPRESS system were tested there. The platform supports a dispatch center in field teams medical team distribution based on the initial triage. The IMPRESS project leader is Dr Sofia Tsekeridou, from INTRASOFT, who also took part in the field tests, as well as IVI, IICT-BAS and ECOMED, among IMPRESS partners.
The other group supported exercise was Lessons Learned Identified. Two representatives participated in the Assessor’s Cell.
More than 680 participants from 10 Partner and 7 Allied nations (Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Finland, FYROM, Georgia, Israel, Romania Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine and USA) practiced disaster response mechanisms and exercise capabilities to work together effectively in emergency situations. The exercise also contributed to strengthen the affected nation’s capacity to effectively coordinate crisis response operations.
The Lessons Identified Conference of CRNA GORA 2016 Exercise will be held and organized by CMDR COE in January next year in Sofia.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Dukanovic and the NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller took part in the closing ceremony of the exercise, underlining the importance for each of the participating parties.
