Gained Cup at the 8th Sofia Ekiden (Relay) Marathon
Date: (07-09-2022)
The CMDR COE Team won the cup in the category Governmental Institutions at the 8th Sofia Ekiden (Relay) Marathon on 6 September 2022.
Our colleagues ran alongside representatives of several governmental and non-governmental institutions, as well as teams representing corporate organizations.
The event was in honor of the 137th Anniversary of the Unification of Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia, and promoted the relay racing within the scope of road running. Among the main goals was the selection of the EKIDEN team champions of Bulgaria for 2022 in the organizers-set categories in Relay Running of 42.195 km.
The CMDR COE team demonstrated high motivation and enthusiasm, competitive spirit and great sports fit.
We congratulate our colleagues on this great success and wish them to keep the cup years ahead and share the sport spirit with all us.
Ekiden is a long-distance running relay race divided in several stages (legs). This sports event originates from Japan and is currently held worldwide on different occasions. As written in Japanese – “Ekiden” is a combination of the words "station" (駅) and "transmit" (伝).
